Daniel Haines

Daniel Haines is the U.S. Chief of Legal and Compliance. In his role, he provides strategic oversight to ensure Servier operates with integrity, transparency, and accountability as we continue to grow and advance innovative therapies for patients.

Before joining Servier, Dan spent a number of years at Sanofi, where he served in a variety of roles in the leadership of the legal department. In his most recent role at Sanofi, Dan was Vice President and Head of Legal, Global Functions, leading a team of professionals throughout the US, Canada, France, Germany, and Belgium that provided support for Strategy & Business Development, Alliance Management, Digital Initiatives, R&D, Regulatory Affairs, and the Chief Medical Officer.

Prior to Sanofi, Dan was a leader in the legal department at biotech Genzyme. While at Genzyme, he served as the senior business lawyer to Genzyme’s Oncology, MS, and Biosurgery businesses representing product lines that generated $1.3B revenue and providing support across the full range of commercial, medical, R&D and BD activities.

In early career legal roles, Dan served in both corporate and litigation associate roles at the law firms of Hale & Dorr (now WilmerHale) Foley, Hoag & Eliot, and Ropes and Gray. He also served as Law Clerk to the Honorable William G. Young in the United States District Court of Massachusetts.

Prior to law school, Dan served as a First Lieutenant in the United States Army, receiving the Bronze Star Medal for exceptionally meritorious service in Saudi Arabia and Iraq during Operation Desert Storm.

Dan earned a Juris Doctorate, magna cum laude, at Boston University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations, cum laude, from Boston University.
